Skagen makes me think of Swedish dancers.
Try to think of a Swiss-sounding name because the Swiss are reputed for having well-made watches. Note that Swiss is completely different from Swedish.

Gucci makes GREAT watches for women. They last quite a while, and never go out of style. They range from really simple, to pretty detailed, and they look great with anything.
Also, Movado makes some really simple and cute ones, that also last for quite a while.
