I was tired of paying $30 for someone to change the “special battery” on my Tissot, which fails after one year of use like clockwork. Pun intended. I purchased this device, had the back of my watch open in about two minutes after adjusting this thing to fit my watch and twist it open. I found that the battery inside was a fairly normal Energizer which I easily found here on Amazon and ordered immediately upon opening the watch.

Further details: Upon opening the box of this device, I had mixed feelings. This was kinda cheap, not a high quality precision instrument worth $100 or anything like that. It’s worth what you pay for. I was a bit worried about this thing slipping and scratching the back of my watch (which was already done by a “professional” anyways!!) but that did not happen. I selected the appropriate bits (for me, square) after testing the fit of three different bits, adjusted the tines to fit my watch which was a very simple, and I twisted the back of my watch with almost zero effort. As for the bits, I had almost chosen some bits that “sorta fit”. I was surprised to find out that the square ones fit the notches on the back of my watch like a glove.

Summary: If your a home user, and your going to remove the back off your watch once or twice a year like me, this thing is simply awesome. Use a bit of caution, take the time to make sure the interchangeable bits fit into the grooves on the back of your watch correctly, and you’ll be very satisfied with this case opener. If you are not a nimble person who is good working with small things (fortunately, I am and always have been), or your eyesight is not what it used to be, you might want to have a friend or relative do this for you.

This item was inexpensive, but works well. The shipping was fast. I would recommend this product for those who have a watch or two to switch out batteries. It saves a lot of money when you compare how much they charge you at watch stores. And don’t buy batteries from watch stores. WAY TO EXPENSIVE! Buy them at CVS, Walgreens, or Rite Aid.

this tool worked as expected and is clearly a cheap import which is what i expected for under $10. if you only need to open 1-2 cases a year it is perfect. I was able to open 3 cases right away after recieving it. It was not big enough to open my 44mm fossil, however i was able to lock it into 2 of the 3 and open it anyway. So if you have a larger watch it may not be a perfect fit.
