Kids’ watches–: Christians: Do you agree parents need to monitor what their kids watch on TV?
Yes-with the way TV is now, definitely. My parents did it to me when I was a kid, They need to monitor what cartoons, other kids’ shows and films their kids watch. There is so much sin and corruption out there-and when they put it in kids’ shows and films it is subtle.

’80s and ’90s TV isn’t the same as what’s on TV now.

If parents love their kids and care for them they will monitor what their kids watch, for their children’s safety sake.

when theyre below 10 sure but after that, they’ll find stuff out on they’re own no matter how protective you are

Answer by Annonymous Annoyance
Did your parents keep a track on everything you saw? And what defines sin and corruption? A little talk about sex or the likes is a sin? Hell to the no.

“If parents love their kids and care for them they will monitor what their kids watch, for their children’s safety sake”. No, what you meant to say was: “If parents want to be overprotective of their children and not let them do what they want so that they might avoid some boo-boos on TV, monitor what your kids watch.

Absolutely, we were not supposed to bring
little innocent, untrained children into the
world to go figure out what is right and
wrong the hard way.

Answer by bible ansers
Yes. Television is a great influence satan uses to train the mind of children to accept worldly and sinful things. What the world may say is ok, usually does not agree with God’s word. It is the parents responsibility to train a child in the right way, God’s way.

Proverbs 22:6: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

I got rid of cable all together because my grand daughter was way too into Hannah Montana and we all know how that ended.
Then, there was I Carly with it’s idiot format and innuendos.
It was all stupid stuff.
What happened to Foghorn Leghorn.
Roadrunner and Coyote?
Woody Woodpecker.
All you can get on PBS in the form of kids programming is Barney and Calliou.
Seen them both over and over for over8 years.
So, out went the idiot tube watching.
Now,I have to monitor what she reads in R&S.
No joke….

Answer by Nancy B
I agree but do not stop with tv. As parents we should monitor all communication from outside, to include, radio, ipod, internet, movies, schools and especially their friends. If we interact with our children and they understand the dangers we are trying to protect them from it helps. It is also a great help to know their friends parents so that you know your child is interacting with a total environment that is functioning along the same lines as yours.

Answer by Me
Yes definitely. We have a function on the TV decoder where you can set the age restriction. Well, we set our decoder to only show programs suitable for the whole family. Kids pick up bad things and habits they see on TV very easily and it is really hard to get them of those bad habits. This is not only a Christian thing. I believe most parents of all religions feels the same about this.

Answer by Joe P
Yes, absolutely. And the internet and all other forms of mass media.

Answer by andrew a
Yes they should, Our son will watch PBS , and we give him an hour. You are right TV is not like it used to be. I happened to watch 2 1/2 men and I had to turn it off when a woman was trying to give Charlie a hand job while sitting at a table.

Answer by Old-fashioned Pattern
Oh yeah … because if a child sees someone fall over on TV they’ll probably try to jump off a cliff …

Why are people so damn over protective about TV today? It’s not like porn is going to start coming on the TV out of nowhere. Also what “sin” is on television you looney?

You it’s the kids who grew up with strictly religious and over protective parents that turn out to be crazies when they’re older.

I feel sorry for your kids … they’ll be brought up with crazy rules and no entertainment.

Kids’ watches–: What was the title of the cartoon on Kids’ WB about sumo wrestlers?
I don’t remember much about this show because I had only watched it a few times as a kid. I’m pretty sure it aired on Kids’ WB.

I think there were three guys that changed into sumo wrestlers. I don’t remember why at all. I know one of the guys was a blonde.

Sorry that there’s not that much detail. Hopefully someone can help!
