Shot using 3 lights. 2 gridded for rim, third in umbrella for fill.
The watch is sitting on a transparent sheet of highly reflective plastic, with a back piece of paper going underneath it and bending upward. I was later thinking that I could have lit from below, too, and skipped the paper, but this worked out ok, I guess.
The biggest pain was getting the light beams narrow enough and eliminating the shadows from the watch itself. With the brace being so reflective it was pretty annoying. I was also getting a reflection of myself on the dial since the fill light would light me up pretty good, too. And my last complaint is that I don’t have a macro lens and had to shoot this with a 17-40 lens. 
I would have loved to get in on the detail and dials of the watch.
