You forgot about the part where it vibrates if you stray too far from the phone while paired to it. It’s a good reminder just in case you, say, tend to leave your phone in a bar after having one too many.

If you have a Windows Mobile phone, you can use an app called SmartWatchM. This gives you way more features than the SE phones can. One of the downsides you mentioned (not being able to read the messages) is not a problem at all with a Windows Mobile phone.

Obviously this depends on usage, but I’d say the battery lasts around a week. It’s rechargeable and you’re provided with the necessary equipment.
