—————————-
Refurbished by www.putschracing.com 3 case Bing pocket watch made in London around 1690-1720. It features a tortise shell/silver/and brass outer case, a fine silver body and decorative case, 3-tier original crystal, rose-gold hands, champleve’ dial with arabic and roman numberal numbers, fusee and chain drive. It is shown being wound and ticking, then assembled in its decorative silver case with Greco Roman figures and then put into its protective outer tortise shell case. This watch is one of the earliest two handed watches and would have only been able to have been owned by the most wealthy of persons at the time. It was built at the same time Sir Isaac Newton was a professon at Cambridge and Johann Sebastian Bach was composing music in Germany. This watch pre-dates everything we Americans take for granted and is still working flawlessly. If only our nation was still working as well…..

@dropouts of course he says it’s worth more than it actually is because it leaves room for negotiation for anyone seeing this and wanting to buy it
the ad for this video was a ahispanic man feeding his dog “fiesta dog food”.
wat
Brilliant TV show. So fantastic and worthwhile compared to the garbage out there now.
a pawn brokers job is to rip you off
3 people found out their railroad watch is fake…
this dude is so fucking annoying
The Devil is in the details alright!
@MW5302 It was a joke, but you apparantly cannot read.
@dropouts he know more than you know
He said Illinois wrong.
Hey, let me get my buddy who knows all about watches set by railroads.
Why pay someone to set your watch if you allowed it to wind down? There are two chances every day to re-set/re-start your watch simply by winding it. C’mon Rick, you’re supposed to be a sharpie
the only person aloud to set it was the “railroad” …..
Lol u fukkin scam it’s around 250$
other is maybeh 60
@dropouts I know a thing or two, and you’re right. its only worth about 200-250 bucks
HOW ABOUT MY CASIO? IT’S MORE ACCURATE
i have the same watch as that Hamilton but, its not a railway special, exactly the same except duznt say railway special, iv been searching for the past day for this thing but cant find it, plz help!
I really like this show – another great show is Antique Addicts – Still in it’s amateur stage check it out
Antique Addicts with Dennis and Doug
@ipulltigga
Yes we are trying to rip people off .
@CanadianChronic2121 The pawn shop you work at is trying to rip off people. 2,000 dollars my ASS!
800 hahahaha more like double that.
@Microglia1 Maybe so, but it’s interesting to us that don’t know anything about these things.
lol. This guy tells us watchcollectors the most obvious… and the choices he picked is a no brainer.
@Rashik30
I dont feel bad about ripping off drug addicts & people that steal =)
@CanadianChronic2121 Lol then your pawn shop rips off people. Train watches go for $800+ in most pawn shops.
@scar504 depends on the quality of the watch and the owner.
master piece
that’s the coolest watch i’ve ever seen in my life. besides rolex and stuff like that.
@uncled39 yes nowadays you’re lucky if your genuine “american”(made in china) product will last until you get it out of the box let alone several years let alone several HUNDRED years
does anyone know the average life expectancy for a pocket watch?
Simply amazing! Charles Dickens’ wrote a Christmas Carol in 1842 … actor George C Scott playred Scrooge and displayed a repeater pocket watch. NIce video. Also amazing how much work was involved to wind up and all thje cases. LOL .. thanks. =)
Wat next a third case
i love pocketwatch, gonna be collector. this one in the video is a treasure
Simply beautiful.
@amazingonion except you steampunks always take them apart for the gears.
You must be very proud of yourself to be able to get such a piece of history back in working order.
Rare item la
What a wonderful thing, and so expertly crafted. Did you purchase it as a collector? Has it been in your family?
nice watch if i had one like this i woud use i everyday lol
@uncled39 I have to agree with you, in that case, if you are looking for an example of a complicated, domestic machine. The items you mention are, indeed, muck, though it must be amitted that the pocket watch would certainly not be working, if it had not been carefully and skillfully repaired, down the years. Given suitable repair, perhaps some of the ‘muck’ would still be staggering on?Having said that, I’m with you in prefering the pocket watch (of which I have 4.)They’re much more attractive.
@Offshoreorganbuilder Interesting answer, but I was thinking of everyday household items, like modern clocks, watches, TV’s, hi-fi, white goods and other cheap and shoddy muck. I’m still putting my money on the antique pocket watch lasting another three centuries. I’ll come back in another three hundred years and see if you’re right.
@uncled39 There is at least one modern mechanism which stands every chance of working in 300 year’s time – the mechanical action pipe organ.
that is an amazing watch :>
@uncled39 good point, its unfortunate how things are, thats why i like buying antiques. you can find people on the internet that do make and repair antique pieces like this.
My dad taught me when I was young to push the button as you are closing the watch so that you don’t wear out the clasp. Being dirt farmers, we had to make things last.
It’s like a russian nesting watch. That thing must be huge when it’s all assembled. Very cool though.
That’s better than a Swiss
@dimitrizeman100 Its probably worth more than u will make in ur life
English craftsmanship at it’s best. Those were the days of quality, unlike today when everything is made of plastic and falls apart just before the guarantee runs out. I shouldn’t think anything made today will still be working in 300+ years. We don’t seem to make anything now, we just import a load of crap from china and elsewhere when we could be making everything ourselves. I wonder how much it would cost to make a quality English Pocket Watch now?
