HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Walter Matthau, born October 1, 1920 in New York City, New York, USA. He was an American actor best remembered for his roles in numerous plays, TV series and films, such as in ‘The Fortune Cookie’ and ‘The Odd Couple’. He died July 1, 2000 age 79.
I find the irony of this part is while the character Beaumont dies, his portrayer Barnard Hughes outlived both Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon in real life. (Matthau died in 2000, Lemmon in 2001, and Hughes in 2006)
I think everytime i see this movie or the Grumpy old men, I crak up..
