I always forget how to do it….
This is how:
1. Press the MODE button once. This will put you in the timer.
2. Then hold down the MODE button. This will put you in the alarm set display.
3. Press the MODE button once more and it will put you in the time set display.
4. Use the ST/SP button to change the blinking portion of the time. Then use RESET button to move you thru the different parts of the time/date.
I hope this helps more than the 4 button instructions that were linked earlier.

Question–: Armitron watch, how do I set the timer on it ? oldie but goodie here?
Hi,I have an inexpensive Armitron watch that is plastic like and it has the 4 buttons on the edges. Mode, Adj, st/sp, el ????????? go figure for a 56 year old, but I’m sure there are like a billion of you out there who can do this while you are sleeping. I’ve only had watches like set the moving hands
So I want to set the alarm or use it like a timer, set for 15 minutes and an alarm goes off. Can I do this and how, thanks I”ll help you with history questions back to 1950

mode – selects from timer, alarm, clock, etc.
indication of which mode u are in may be harder to figure out
adj – sets the digits or combination of 2 digits
st/sp – for use in timer mode STarts/STops timer
el ??? – may select the digit(s) to change or turn on/off alarm
HOWEVER, most of these are not countdown timers so u have to use the alarm set for the time u want it to alarm.
